About Me
A little about me. I’m a mum of one son and two cats. I have been into holistic health from very early adulthood. My first love was yoga and this remains part of my life 28 years on. Homeopathy for me was a calling and is now my life’s purpose. Like most health practitioners, I got into alternative health through my own health and wellbeing challenges.
My qualifications
Prior to becoming a homeopath I gained a BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Therapy. Studying anatomy and physiology at this level gave me an awe for just how magnificent the human body is and how all parts are connected. Homeopathy has amplified that, showing me how the body has the capacity to heal itself. I gained my homeopathy Licentiate with the prestigious Centre for Homeopathic Education, and was trained by some of the worlds leading and most dedicated homeopaths.
I am a registered member of The Society of Homeopaths.
My style
I am open, honest and have a warm and friendly nature. I listen without judgement as we all have a story that has brought us to where we are now. Through many years of working with people I have developed and continue to develop my listening and reflective skills and I have a deep compassion for all people.
My mission
My mission is simple. I want to make a positive difference in the world. I believe that we all have a purpose and reason for being here and I want to assist you to become the happiest, healthiest, most empowered version of yourself that you can be.
About Homeopathy
Homeopathy is classed as a complementary and alternative medicine. It can be used to treat mental, emotional and physical health issues as well as having the side effect of improving ones general wellbeing. To me, it’s the most amazing medicine in the world! Based on the principle of the law of similars, or like cures like, homeopathy literally translates as similar disease or suffering. This means that a substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person will cure those same symptoms in a person with that affliction. For example, Red Onion (Allium cepa) is a great remedy for colds and hay fever as the onion creates the symptoms of runny nose and watering eyes.
Traditionally, homeopathy uses substances from the natural world of plants, animals and minerals. Remedies are made using a process of dilution and succussion (shaking/banging on a firm surface). This is known as potentisation and determines the number you see on the bottle. For example, a 30c has been diluted and succussed 30 times.
What is great about homeopathy is that it work by stimulating your body’s own healing mechanism, so it is actually you that is doing the healing and therefore it has no harmful side effects. This makes it a great medicine from before conception right through life until you take your final breath.
